Samuel Norton

Samuel "Sammy" Norton, age 68 of Conyers, died February 8, 2018. Sammy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. His faith was important, serving as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Light of Calvary Baptist Church for many years. He loved fishing, and was a member of the Bear Creek Bass Club. Sammy was preceded in death by mother and father, Margaret Hill Norton and Hoke Norton; brothers, Robert and James Norton. Surviving are his wife of 46 years; Antonia "Toni" Pettit; sons, Casey Norton and wife Becky of Eatonton, Kevin Norton and wife Amanda of Conyers, Clint Norton and fiancee Shelbi of Conyers; sister, Sadie Still and husband Ray of Conyers; 11 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:30 Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Light of Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers. The family will receive friends from 3-5 Saturday at Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia, and 1:30-2:30pm prior to the service at the church.
