Phillip Boland Foley, age 70, of Elba, Alabama, died on December 2, 2023. A proud Lithonia High School alumnus, class of 1971, he lettered in both baseball and basketball. He was a key player on their basketball team, contributing significantly to their regional level championship win taking them to the state tournament his senior year where they were unfortunately defeated. His talent extended beyond the basketball court into his professional life, where he worked as a Diesel Truck Mechanic, a trade he learned from his father, William Foley. Phillip's love for nature and the outdoors found expression through his membership in a local hunting club. Above all, Phillip was a life long supporter of Alabama Football; his love for the game was unparalleled. Roll Tide! Phillip is preceded in death by his father and his wife, William Foley & Maureen Nunn; his mother, Ann McVay Foley; brother, Terrell Foley; Nephew, Jay Howard. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law: Vivian & Ed Howard of Jasper; niece, Dori Howard; nephew, Alan Howard; niece, Stephanie Howard; special friends, Greg Hayes, Rodney Reagin, Bill Bailey, Dennis Stanton, Jerry Crow and Andy Lot. A funeral service for Mr. Foley will be held 1 o' clock, Friday, December 8, 2023, in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia, with Rev. Mike Wadley officiating with interment following in Hillandale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11-1 before the service at the funeral home.
