Service: 2 o'clock, Saturday, December 31, 2016 Place: Lithonia Chapel of Henry Funeral Home Visitation: 12:30 - 2:00 prior to the service Place: Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia Nellie Housworth Chaney, age 96, of Buford died December 28, 2016. She was a member of Moreland Avenue Baptist Church in Atlanta, enjoyed reading, gardening (vegetables and flowers), and cooking. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be missed by many. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Ingram Chaney; sons, Jake Chaney and Charlie Chaney; grandsons, Mike Chaney and Tod Chaney; parents, Walter and Willie Housworth; and sister, Ruth Thompson. Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Chaney Carroll of Buford; son, John Chaney of Winder; 7 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two nieces. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock Saturday, December 31, in the Lithonia Chapel of Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Lindsay officiating. Interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 12:30 - 2:00 prior to the service.
